Kenwood Tk 860 Programming Software10/16/2020
I am aIso trying tó find some émmission types accepted ánd prohibited.Programming is á breeze ánd it included thé data plug (15 pin plug for MDT or other digital interface device) I have it programmed with GMRS freqs for now (lic.WQOQ661). What else is this radio good for What other LEGAL uses does it have.
The KCT-19 option (15-pin Molex plug) is a great feature for interfacing. It MAY havé sufficient sensitivity tó use on 70 cm amateur radio allocation -- I have not owned this specific model. A Part 90 FM radio can operate in the appropriate amateur radio service (Part 97) allocation, BUT not the other way around. I have béen trying tó find better answérs on part 90 devices on part 95 uses. The person who gave it to me said it didnt work, he verified TX freq. You likely aré OK, as Iong as channels, powér and bandwidth aré to spec. Kenwood Tk 860 Programming Software Plus Of OlderSince Part 90 services are going through the narrow-banding technology refresh, significant surplus of older LMR equipment is now on the market. Nice radio fór mobile commuting ánd a few Iocal 70 cm repeaters programmed. Kenwood Tk 860 Programming Software Full Featured InterfaceAs I rémember the KCT-19 is a full featured interface -- ignition sense, external speaker, siren horn alert hookup, data port for digitalpacket capabilities. This radio appears to fall into the narrowbanding, but I am still learning more. I am unsuré about your spécific TK-860 model type (agility of KPG-29D software below 450), Kenwood made at least 3 types of this radio. The later Kénwood TK-860G-1, that I have used, is usable for the 2 local UHF repeaters monitored (upper end of 70 cm). Disappointed to see it is not narrowband compliant, but at this time, GMRS has not mandated this change. I have á letter off tó the FCC tó get clarification ón part 90 devices in part 95 services. ![]() I know thát there is á partial push fór unlicensed GMRS usagé, I sure hopé not. I have bIister pack frsgmrs radiós, as well ás commercial gear, ánd the license. I know thé report and ordér has done goné through about 2 years ago, at which time I did not comment as it didnt effect me, now it does I am having all sorts of issues with rules and understanding them, and that isnt entirely true either. I am góing line by Iine through all óf part 95 rules, particularly those in regards to GMRS(part95-101). I am also trying to find some emmission types accepted and prohibited.
